Description:

This bitumen is generally used to produce extra-heavy bitumen pavements that must withstand high traffic loads. Bitumen VG30 is the most commonly used bitumen in the road, insulation, and building construction industries, as well as in the production of cutback bitumen. It's good to know that VG30 bitumen can be used instead of 60/70 penetration bitumen.

According to the viscosity bitumen categorization, 30 in VG 30 bitumen refers to the Poise range of viscosity [(100 +- 20) * 30]. The VG30's lowest and maximum values can be calculated. The minimum viscosity at 60°C is computed as 80 * 30 = 2400 Poise, whereas the maximum viscosity is calculated as 120 * 30 = 3600 Poise.

 

Applications:
 

• It is suitable for temperature above 30°C

• For a clayey soil, bitumen with higher viscosity is more suitable

• VG30 is more suitable for road construction in rainy weather.
